Best AI call scoring and call grading software for pest control (2026)

Tanner Crookston · CEO and co-founder, Plaibook

Ran inside sales at BRD Pest Solutions across seven offices before starting Plaibook. Still takes customer calls every week.

If you run a pest control office and want software to grade your CSRs' and inside sales reps' calls, look for four things. It should score every call, not a sample, and it should score against your own script steps rather than a generic rubric. It should tie the grade to what happened in FieldRoutes, so you see close rate by rep and by lead source instead of a number with no revenue behind it. It should work with the phone system you already have. And it should do something about the calls that didn't close, because a graded miss is still a miss.

Here is the short list as of September 2026. Plaibook is built for pest control offices on FieldRoutes and scores every call against your script, with text follow-up on the leads that didn't book. Voice for Pest's X-Ray is the pick if you already run their phone system and want the analysis from the same vendor. Avoca and Lace are home-services call intelligence products with AI voice agents, strongest on ServiceTitan. Ardenus is a pest-specific analysis layer aimed at multi-branch operators. CallScaler is call tracking with lead scoring, not rep grading. Driven is KPI dashboards and scorecards without call scoring. For recording door-knocks and in-home visits you want Siro or Rilla, which is a different problem.

Recording the conversation on the porch

Who each one is for

One honest paragraph per vendor

Plaibook

For pest control offices with anywhere from three to a few hundred reps, mostly on FieldRoutes, some on ServiceTitan or Briostack. Every sales and service call is transcribed and graded against your own script steps, and the grade sits next to what happened in FieldRoutes, so you get close rate by rep and by lead source instead of a score in a vacuum. Save rate and cancellations are tracked the same way. The text agent follows up leads that called and didn't book. You keep your phone system. Managers work in Plaibook and reps never touch it. There is no AI voice agent, no email marketing, and no number pools, so if you want one vendor to answer the phone with AI, this is not it.

Voice for Pest X-Ray

Voice for Pest is a phone system built for pest and lawn, with FieldRoutes and PestPac screen pops, click to call, and automatic noting. X-Ray (written x-rai on their site) is the AI layer on top: it categorizes calls, flags leads that never made it into the CRM, and sends alerts and follow-ups. Call scoring with evaluation templates is described under their contact center product. The right pick if you are on Voice for Pest, happy with it, and want the analysis to come from the same vendor. We wrote a longer comparison for the offices choosing between the two.

Avoca Coach

Avoca sells an AI front office for service businesses: an AI CSR that answers calls and books jobs, a speed-to-lead drip, and Coach, which scores every call against your rubric on objection handling, process adherence, tone, and booking outcome, with per-CSR dashboards. It is a certified ServiceTitan app, has a FieldRoutes Marketplace listing, and its pest page cites a PestPac customer. Best for bigger home-services shops that want the AI receptionist and the coaching from one vendor. Pest control is one of about a dozen verticals on their site.

Lace AI

Lace calls itself the AI revenue system for the trades. An AI CSR takes calls around the clock, a rehash agent follows up unbooked calls by outbound and SMS, and there is CSR coaching. The customer page is HVAC, plumbing, garage doors and windows. No pricing page, no integrations page, and no FieldRoutes Marketplace listing as of this writing. Best for trades call centers on ServiceTitan that want an AI CSR first and coaching second.

Ardenus

Ardenus describes itself as an AI operating system for enterprise pest control, and it is explicit that it is for multi-truck, multi-branch operators. It scores all calls against a consistent rubric covering script adherence, resolution, missed upsells and required compliance language, flags churn-risk accounts, and sits on top of FieldRoutes, PestPac, GorillaDesk or Pocomos while you keep your phone system. Pricing is quote based. Best for large operators that want an intelligence layer across branches and are not shopping for an AI receptionist.

CallScaler

CallScaler is a call tracking platform for lead generation and pay-per-call: tracking numbers, call flows, IVR, and AI lead scoring from 0 to 100 by campaign and source. Pricing is published, there is a free trial with no card, and plans start at $45 a month on annual billing plus usage. It does not grade reps and lists no FSM integrations. Best for agencies and marketers who need tracking numbers and number pools, which is the one call-tracking job Plaibook does not do.

Driven

Driven (formerly Pest IQ) is a performance operations platform that sits on top of your CRM: scorecards, a leaderboard, pipeline stages, and a shared inbox for texts and emails. Their site does not describe call scoring. Best for owners who want technician and office KPIs on one screen and are not looking for call grading.

Siro and Rilla

Both are for the other half of the sales conversation: the one that happens on a porch or in a kitchen. Reps record from their phone, the software transcribes, and managers coach from the recording. Siro has a FieldRoutes Marketplace listing with pest control testimonials and runs paid pilots rather than free trials. Rilla's home-services page is HVAC, plumbing and electrical. If your problem is door-to-door coaching, start there. If your problem is the office phone, they are a different tool.

Evaluation

How to run a bake-off in two weeks

Demos all look good. The way to pick is to make every vendor grade the same calls and see whose grades a manager agrees with.

1

Connect the phone system

Give each vendor API access to your phone system or call tracker. If a vendor needs you to switch phone systems to run the test, that is your first data point.

2

Backfill the same window

Have each vendor pull the same 30 or 60 days of recordings. You are comparing grades on identical calls, so the sample has to be identical.

3

Score the same 50 calls

Pick 50 calls across your reps and lead sources, half closed and half not. Every vendor scores those 50 against your script steps, not their default rubric.

4

Compare with a manager's grades

Have your best manager grade the same 50 blind. The vendor whose grades match the manager most often, and whose misses you can explain, wins. Then check what each one did with the 25 that did not close.

Plaibook backfills a month of historical calls free during the trial, so the 50-call sample is ready on day one. Our integrations page lists the phone systems we connect to today, and the call scoring page shows what a scorecard looks like. If you want the coaching side of this, read how to coach pest control sales reps.

FAQ

Questions we get on every demo

Yes. The transcript is graded the same way no matter where the rep sits. Accents and line quality affect transcription a little, which is why we grade against the script steps that were or were not completed rather than on word-for-word phrasing. Offshore teams are often where scoring pays off fastest, because the manager is not sitting next to the reps and this is the first time they can see every call.
Accurate enough to coach from, not accurate enough to fire from. On a clear script step like asking for the sale or offering the recurring plan, the grade matches a manager almost every time. On judgment calls like tone, expect disagreement on some calls. Run the 50-call bake-off above and measure it for your own scripts instead of trusting a number from a vendor, including us.
No. Reps keep working in the phone system and FieldRoutes. Recordings are pulled through the API, graded, and matched to the FieldRoutes account. Managers see the scorecards in Plaibook, and coaching notes land in Slack. Nothing gets typed in manually.
Yes. Plaibook runs alongside Voice for Pest and pulls the recordings through the API. You do not need the X-Ray add-on for Plaibook to work, and you do not need to change your phone system.
Plaibook is priced per rep seat. Managers and owners are free, low-volume seats are free, there is no setup fee, and billing is month to month. The trial is 30 days with no credit card. The pricing page explains the model, and a 15-minute call gets you a quote for your team size.
